Bandit-supreme Teal Stripe Preamp Pedal

Description

The Peavey Bandit Supreme Teal Stripe Preamp Pedal is part of Peavey’s Legacy preamp series, designed to recreate the tone of the early ’90s Bandit and Supreme amps—especially the well-known “Teal Stripe” lead channel.

Core sound

Aggressive, punchy high-gain distortion with tight low end and sharp attack
Sits between the other Peavey pedals in character: more controlled than the Decade, but rougher than the Rock Master
Very articulate, with a fast, percussive response typical of Peavey’s solid-state designs
Works well for everything from crunchy rock to heavier metal tones

Controls and features

Pre Gain and Post Gain to control distortion and output level
Gain Boost switch for extra saturation
Mid Shift switch for either thicker mids or a scooped tone
Bottom, Body, and Edge EQ controls for detailed tone shaping
Hard bypass switching

Feel and design

Uses analog circuitry inspired by Peavey’s TransTube approach
Higher internal voltage provides more headroom and a more responsive feel
Designed to behave like an amp preamp rather than a simple distortion pedal

Character

Tight and aggressive, with a distinct solid-state edge
Less compressed than the Rock Master, more focused than the Decade
Cuts through a mix easily, especially for rhythm playing

Use cases

Suitable for metal, punk, and hard rock
Can be run into an amp’s effects return, a standalone power amp, or an audio interface with a cab simulator
Works well for both rhythm and lead depending on settings

Pros

Captures a classic Peavey tone in a compact format
Flexible EQ section
Clear and articulate under high gain

Cons

No built-in cabinet simulation
Not ideal for low-gain or vintage tones
Strong tonal character may not suit every style
